Food, rent, heat

This is week 153 of Sonya’s “Three Line Tales” writing exercise.

He knew nothing about art. “They come from a village in Vietnam,” his supplier once said. “All they do there is paint pictures.” He didn’t care where it came from, nor even what the merchandise was.

He was a good salesman, quick to grade his passers-by into lookers and prospects. And quicker still to change a prospect into a customer.

Every picture he sold gave him a little more money for food, rent, and heat. And that meant he would survive.
